We initially had a price in mind that we believed to be a bit unrealistic. Dan priced our home well above that. Dan coached us in the process of preparing our home for sale and while it was a bit expensive we were appropriately convinced that we would get back several times the money we were spending. It all worked. The truth is that we did not want to sell but The City of Redmond and King Co. have become increasingly intrusive in the way they expand our city and neighborhood and especially in the way we are taxed. In short, we moved here 28 years ago when the area was mostly horse pastures. The elected politicians of the day promised slow or low growth but that is not what they did. It is now high density housing all around us which tends to make us uncomfortable. The taxes are so high that we can no longer afford to live here. The housing prices are also high so even though we loved our home and hated to leave it we elected to take some money out of it and move away to a location where we might be able to buy a house for cash and live on the rest for whatever life we might have left to us. IE: The politicians and bureaucrats drove us away.
