I have acquired many professional skills and experiences before joining Century 21 and the real estate world. I am currently in my first year as an agent and ready and prepared to meet your real estate needs.
Out of college, I began in the corporate world of advertising and marketing for a small firm based out of Kansas City, MO.This experience was valuable in preparing me for fast-paced situations along with the creative thinking that is imperative in the advertising world. These skills will be a great asset to the marketing of your home and/or buying one.
I also was very fortunate to have a career in Education. I taught theatre, English, and television production for ten years in Southwest Florida. Because of my strong worth ethic and creative thinking, I was named Teacher of Year in my Florida school district in 2011-2012.
For the last five years I have lived in Skagit Valley. Along with joining Century 21 as a broker, I have joined a skincare business which I manage, advertise and market, and meet my clients needs. This experience has provided me with a wide range of business skills needed to serve clients of all types, including those in real estate.
My variety of work experiences and strong work ethic will serve you well when selling your home or buying a new one.
Though I love the Pacific Northwest, it wasn't the first place I have called home. I was raised outside of Kansas City, KS in a small city called Leavenworth, KS. No Dorothy or prison jokes please. After graduating from Kansas State University, GO WILDCATS, I worked in Kansas City, MO for an advertising firm, before moving to the sun-soaked weather of Southwest Florida.
In Florida, I taught for ten years, and fell in love learning about the natural plant life and year round presence of butterflies. I built a butterfly sanctuary in my back yard and was able to watch a variety of species and their entire life cycle. It is the one thing I miss most. Forget the sandy beaches or daily sunshine - taking care of butterflies was quite a gratifying experience.
Eventually, my family found ourselves in the Pacific Northwest where we traded in our daily sunshine for the fresh air and beautiful landscapes. We have adopted three boys while in Washington and our lives are more fulfilled for it. Our family loves to camp throughout Washington and Oregon. We love exploring the treasures that can be found throughout the Pacific Northwest. Our kids are active in sports and when we can we take in a Seahawks game or Mariners game. Once a year I even hop on plane to catch a Kansas State football game.
Theatre is also important in our lives. Whether its a school play, the Lincoln Theatre in Mount Vernon, or taking a New York City trip to see a Broadway show, we enjoy the enrichment art can bring to our family's lives.
We are also animal lovers! With three dogs, three bunnies, and a fish named Chester, we are quite busy cleaning cages, tanks, and keeping our canine friends exercised and loved!
All in all, life is exciting here in the Pacific Northwest. I can't wait to find what adventures tomorrow and the next ten years of my life will bring!
I have always been involved in the community. It's a belief a hold very close to my heart.
I began, through the theatre department I created in Florida, Project Project. Every semester my students and I selected a community service project and raised awarness, supplies, and money for a variety of charities such as The Abuse and Counceling Treament Center and The Make-a-Wish Foundation.
Locally here in Mount Vernon, I am currently serving as the President of the Washington Elementary PTO, I serve on the Mount Vernon Youth Football Association Board, and have participated in the Festival of Trees, which raises money for the local hospital. My family also sponsors families in need during Thanksgiving and Christmas, through the the local Skagit Herald.
In the past I have also served on the SPARC (Skagit Preschool And Resource Center) board. Currently we are yearly donators to this organization that helps disabled or disadvantage children from birth to preschool so they can get a head start in the services they need.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Advertising from Kansas State University.
I currently hold a Washington educator's license and Washington real estate broker's license.
