Why should you list your home with a REALTOR? Part One

There are several reasons why it's to your advantage, to list your home with a professional REALTOR. I am going to touch one the most important reason, here today.

Money!

I realize the biggest reason sellers list their homes FSBO (For Sale By Owner) is to save money. The 6% fee, can equal a lot less money in the seller's pocket! (OR CAN IT!)

Let's talk about the math.

Statistically speaking, the average home sells for 13% MORE, when listed with a REALTOR.

Let's compare a side by side sale. One listed by a REALTOR, the other FSBO

      FSBO Realtor Listed Home
Price $200,000 $226,000
Escrow Fee $600 $700
Excise Tax $3560 $4023
Title Policy $735 $805
Realtor Fees $13,560
Net to Seller $195,105 $206,912

I don't know about you, but I would MUCH rather hire someone else to do all the work, and make MORE money because of it. Think about it this way....Even if you're listed FSBO, chances are your buyer will be represented by a Buyer's Agent. You'll have to pay their 3% commission anyway. Isn't it smarter to just leave it to the professionals
